Since the appearance of volume 60 (1990) Austria's only scientific journal with exclusively coleopterological contents - the Koleopterologische Rundschau (Coleopterological Review) - presents itself in a new layout.
This journal has been published continuously since 1911. In 1990 it was revitalized by the Zoologisch-Botanische Gesellschaft and the Wiener Coleopterologenverein (WCV) (Vienna Coleopterists Society), two equally traditional scientific societies. Eventually, it was possible to increase the journal's quality greatly.
The "Koleopterologische Rundschau" appears annually and contains approximately 300 pages of new contributions on taxonomy, phylogeny, zoogeography and faunistics of beetles. There are no geographic restrictions. Languages are English and German.
Manuscripts for "Koleopterologische Rundschau" are thoroughly peer-reviewed.
If you plan to publish some contributions at the Koleopterologische Rundschau (Coleopterological Review), please read the instruction for authors.
Members of the WCV receive 30 reprints of their articles free and do not pay any page charges!

Aims and Scope
Coleopterological Review is an independent, international non-profit journal devoted to beetle research. In a lively mix of research and review articles, all fields of coleopterology are covered. Quality contributions are sought, expected to be of genuine interest to coleopterologists and of enduring relevance to beetle research. Suitable manuscripts are reviewed by at least two independent expert referees prior to potential acceptance. Reviewers can stay anonymous to the authors or waive anonymity, and they are asked to actively search for plagiarism.
Coleopterological Review publishes at least one volume per year.
Open access
Open-access model: From Volume 90 onward, gold open access, that is, contributions are immediately and freely available from the publisher, without charge to the user or her/his institution, and article-processing charges are paid by the author. Open access also applies to all earlier volumes.
Licensing: From Volume 90 ??? onward, all contributions are published under the Creative Commons (CC) license CC BY 4.0. CC licenses link to recognized international regulations and allow the author of a work to indicate how that work can be used by others. CC BY 4.0 means that users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute in any medium or format, print, search, and link to the full texts of the articles, as well as to remix, transform, and build upon, or use the articles for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author, as long as appropriate credit and a link to the license are given and any change made is indicated.
Copyright: From Volume 90 onward, the copyright of all contributions remains entirely with the authors. This regulation is the most author-friendly one, best suiting the CC BY 4.0 license. This change in our policy does not bear on the regulation for the contributions in Volumes 1 - 90, under which the authors transferred the copyright to the publisher, the Wiener Coleopterologen Verein.
